Dublin, 14 November, 2012 — Meteor today announced the launch of a new Meteor Top Up Direct app for Android. A first for the Irish market, the Meteor app will allow customers to top up conveniently in real-time, direct from their smartphones.
The free downloadable app is available today from the Google Play Store and is powered by Vesta, a leading electronic payments company.
The new mobile payments app complements the current Top Up Direct free call top up line 1740, SMS and web top up channels, enabling customers to execute once-and-done payments from their smartphone within seconds. With the app, customers can also store multiple payment devices, gift a top up to another Meteor customer, set up and manage auto-payments, review top up history, and more.
The Meteor Top Up Direct App will also allow customers to avail of Meteor’s festive season Top Up offer which gives them up to 50% extra free credit every time they top up through Top Up Direct.

Meteor is gifting customers extra free credit of 20% with every €20 top up, 30% with every €30 top up and 50% with every €40 top up, meaning customers have extra cash to enjoy the festive season in style. The Top Up Offer will run through all Top Up Direct channels for November and December and is available to all customers who Top Up through free call 1740, text, online or the new Meteor Top Up Direct app for Android.
